Teddy Bear Accompaniment advised for Things That Go Bump in the Night

CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF THE ARTS  - Things That Go Bump in the Night, is a devised multimedia theater performance which explores the mythology of the night, our dreams and fears after the sun goes down. 

Created by director Katy Alexander, with the students of CalArts, the production will be presented by the CalArts School of Theater. Performance Dates:  Friday, Nov 15; Saturday Nov 16; and Monday Nov 18, 2013.  Showtime:  8:00pm in Butler Building 2 on the CalArts campus (24700 McBean Parkway, Valencia CA, 91335).  Admission is free. Using personal narrative, collected stories from real life, myth, and fairytale, Things That Go Bump in the Night is a journey after dark: wondering about the monsters hiding under the bed while experiencing nightmares, beautiful dreams, secrets and magic. 

Katy Alexander is the Artistic Director of the multimedia ensemble Night Parrot Productions, whose projection theatre work, Alter Ego, premiered at Vivid Sydney in May 2012.  Katy is a director and producer who explores multimedia theatre and the relationship between live performance, audience, architecture and screen. A graduate of Sydney’s National Institute of Dramatic Art, she has worked widely in Australia, including in an award-winning production of Jane Bodie’s Through at the Sydney Opera House’s Studio Theater.  Katy has an Honors degree in Fine Arts & Performance Studies from the University of Sydney, and is currently working on her PhD in Multimedia Performance at the University of New South Wales.
