Mission
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Institutional Research’s activities include strategic planning, data governance, institutional benchmarking, market demand research, studies of academic progress and outcomes, institute admission and enrollment reporting, and data management. The office frames and informs the institutional strategic dialogue in active partnership with colleagues, building a culture of evidence to support planning and management, as agents of change at the California Institute of the Arts and in higher education generally.
The office’s goal is to grow the institution’s degree of intelligence, enabling leadership to ask the right questions with an increasing level of sophistication and nuance, informing CalArts’ stakeholders of the institution’s position, strengths, challenges, and opportunities to achieve its goals within the context of its mission. Increased intelligence improves CalArts’ competitive advantage and its ability to effectively deliver on its promise to its students.
