Weather Alert: Storm Advisory

Dear CalArts Faculty and Staff,

Travel advisories are in effect related to the current storm, which is expected to bring heavy rain, high winds, and the possibility of power outages and flooding to our area today through Tuesday, Feb. 6.

At this time, we expect CalArts’ campus to remain open, and classes are not being canceled. We will provide updates via email and the CalArts website if this changes.

Due to the potentially hazardous travel conditions, however, we encourage those who can stay off the roads on Monday to do so. Staff should coordinate with their supervisors to work remotely if possible. Faculty should consider holding classes remotely, or allow flexibility for students who may be unable to travel to campus safely.=

All essential staff, including Campus Safety and Facilities staff, will be on campus as usual. CalArts’ Facilities Management team has been preparing for the storm’s arrival, and personnel are on campus and on alert to ensure the safety of our community and facilities in case of flooding, power outages, or other effects of the storm.
