REDCAT joins CAP UCLA and the performing arts community in congratulating Edgar Miramontes, REDCAT’s Deputy Executive Director and Curator, in his new endeavor as the next Executive and Artistic Director of UCLA’s Center for the Art of Performance (CAP UCLA). Miramontes has worked at REDCAT for more than a decade, arriving in 2008, serving as associate director from 2013 to 2019 and in his current role since 2019.
“While I'll certainly miss Edgar's partnership and leadership, I'm excited for his new chapter, and so grateful for all the amazing work and dedication he’s brought to REDCAT,” said João Ribas, Steven D. Lavine Executive Director of the Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater (REDCAT). “His selection for this role is a testament to how much he has accomplished during his time with us.”
UCLA announced Miramontes’ appointment in a statement issued today; his appointment at the Center for the Art of Performance begins in August 2023.
