CalArts connection: MFA in Film/Video, 1972
Professional Status: Stanley Levine has worked as an educator, composer and filmmaker since completing his MFA in 1972 as part of CalArts first graduating class. He has taught classes in the humanities and music appreciation since the early '80s at Los Angeles Mission College and directed the electronic music lab at Pasadena City College. In 1996 he received a National Endowment for the Humanitites Research Fellowship at SUNY Stony Brook.
How I support CalArts: Levine serves on the Alumni Association Board, and has made numerous donations to the CalArts Annual Fund and School of Music since 1979.
Why CalArts? "My time at CalArts was the best and most productive time of my life." says Levine. "I am on the board and I am a donor because I want to keep CalArts strong so that others can have a chance at the same experience I had."
