Welcome 2016/2017 Applicants
Welcome to the start of your CalArts experience. As you explore your housing options, consider on-campus housing, which provides greater exposure to the CalArts community and the Santa Clarita Valley. On-campus housing places you in a position to maximize your experience at CalArts. Knowing your community can create a positive living situation. We accommodate just over a third of the campus population through either Chouinard Hall or Ahmanson Hall. Applying for On-Campus Housing for 2016/2017
The On-Campus Housing Application for the 2016-17 is now available! Click the link below to download the application. Please carefully read all information on the cover page for submission instructions and important details.
We are still accepting applications even though the May 2 deadline has passed. Applications received after the deadline will automatically be placed on the waiting list. When space becomes available due to cancellations, applications will be removed from the waiting list in oder they were received so it is still important to submit your application as soon as possible. All forms of the application and the required $350 payment must be received for an application to be considered complete.
Applications may be submitted via e-mail, fax, or standard mail. Payment may be made by check/money order, over the phone with a debit/credit card, or via bank wire.
If paying by wire transfer, please be sure to check with your bank
for the cost of the wire. The bank usually deducts the cost of the wire from the amount of money that you send, which in some instances may cause your payment to be short. Please use the following information:

Fall 2016 Check-In Information
The Residence Halls will open for Fall 2016 on Sunday September 4th at 8am. All new residents are required to check in this day. In late July students will receive an e-mail with roommate/suitemate information as well as more information regarding check-in and getting to campus. New students will be assigned a check-in time frame for September 4th. If your travel plans do not match the assigned time frame, simply contact us and we will adjust the time for you. We will be providing van service from the Bob Hope Burbank Airport and Van Nuys Flyaway station on September 4th. Please review the Orientation Schedule for important events occuring starting Sunday September 4th and continuing throughout the week. Returning residents may check in between September 4th and September 11th. Burbank and Van Nuys van runs will be available on Wednesday September 7th for returning students. A sign up form for the van runs will also be provided in the ucpoming e-mail.
