Technology Support for Remote Instruction

CalArts IT (CAIT) is partnering with the Office of the Provost to collect and develop resources for faculty to move to remote learning.

For the most up-to-date information on available tools, resources, and updates please visit the COVID-19 Resources page on cait.calarts.edu.

Faculty Equipment Needs

CalArts faculty may borrow laptops, iPads, MiFis, etc. from the institution, pending availability, during Spring 2021. When CalArts returns to normal operations, faculty will be expected to return all CalArts technology to campus.

To ask for any equipment please contact IT: cait@calarts.edu. Contactless pick-up will be arranged at the upper-loading dock above Facilities.

Zoom Videoconferencing

Zoom is a videoconferencing tool for synchronous, live meetings over video.

Faculty can sign up for a Pro license using their @calarts.edu email account at calarts.zoom.us. All CalArts accounts will be automatically licensed as soon as you log in; faculty no longer need to contact CalArts IT (CAIT).

NOTE: Students do not need an account to join a Zoom call.

This CAIT article describes how to get a Zoom account, how to create a meeting, and how to invite guests.
