ART: Curated by faculty member Allan Sekula in collaboration with the artists, this exhibition features work by 2008 MFA graduates Ian Arenas, Allie Bogle, Louisa Conrad, Lindsay Foster, Sidonie Loiseleux, Justin Long, Alejandro Sanchez and Carlin Wing; 2007 MFA graduate Heather Rasmussen; and CalArts Photography and Media faculty members Andrew Freeman and Allan Sekula. REDCAT: Through video, performance, sculpture and installation, Dave McKenzie explores notions of public space and cultural exchange in relation to the private self. Often informed by humble actions and everyday circumstances, his modest proposals examine the world around us, revealing a larger set of social and political truths that are evidenced in the everyday. ART: In an unprecedented move, CalArts MFA graduates take over some of the leading art galleries in Los Angeles' Chinatown. Curated by Malik Gaines and Christine Y. Kim, this exhibition features work by 2008 MFA graduates in the programs of Art, Photography and Intermedia. Catalog available at the galleries. Edited by Ben Weissman with forward by Tom Lawson.
