Apply to CalArts

Admission to CalArts is competitve and considered mainly on the basis of demonstrated talent, creativity and commitment. CalArts welcomes applications for admission from anyone committed to the visual, performing or writing arts. Students are admitted on a full-time basis only and commence studies almost exclusively in the fall semester.

Deadlines:

Fall 2008

While our Regular Deadline has passed, many of our programs remain open.  Please call the Office of Admissions at 800 545-2787 before applying to make sure your program is still accepting applications.  Applications and portfolios submitted after the Regular Deadline will be reviewed in the order received until the program is filled. Once a program is closed, late applicants cannot be reviewed.  The programs requiring live auditions close after the final scheduled auditions. There are no “make-up” auditions.

Application Fee: $70 domestic students / $85 international students

Your application for admission will be evaluated only after the Office of Admissions has received all required materials. It is your responsibility to be certain that all necessary materials have been sent. The requirements are as follows:
