Resources for Off-Campus Housing

We understand that the process of finding off-campus housing can be daunting for new students.  If you are not familiar with Valencia and the surrounding area, there are many safe and close housing options that regularly rent to CalArts students. Many apartment complexes and condominium communities are within walking/biking distance to the CalArts campus. Sharing housing with other CalArtians can be a great way to start your studies here and it can be helpful to look for housing with other roommates.

The Office of Student Affairs offers many resources to help you meet other students looking for housing, become familiar with the local area, and view housing listings.   Please go to the Student Life webpage to get started or contact their office at (661) 253-7897.  From there you can join the facebook group entitled CalArts Off Campus Housing to connect with other students looking for housing.

New Student Orientation

The Office of Student Affairs has now posted general information about orientation and the schedule of events for your first few weeks at CalArts.  You will receive your CalArts registration packet and additional orientation information in separate mailings in early August.

Tuition Payment Plan

Cal Arts is now offering payment options that can help you afford your education. You may enroll now in the Interest-Free Monthly Payment Plan offered by our partner, Tuition Management Systems.  The payment option is available for a small enrollment fee and includes personal account service, automated account information 24 hours a day and access to your account through their website at www.afford.com/calarts.  Visit the Tuition Management website for more information on payment options, free education payment counseling and the many ways they can help you afford your education.

Hotel Information

There is a wide selection of hotels near the campus; the closest are the ones in Stevenson Ranch. Please take into account, however, that most hotels are not within walking distance of the campus. If a shuttle is dropping you off at a hotel, you may need to make arrangements to take a taxi to the campus.

This website is the most comprehensive listing of hotels in the Valencia area. Many of these hotels offer a "CalArts" rate; if you would like to know if a hotel offers a CalArts rate, it is best to call the local rather than toll-free telephone number.
