David Kendall is a sound artist, improviser, and composer from Los Angeles (and outlying areas), California. David has played in Los Angeles and along the west coast with some of the staples of the west coast’s experimental music scene, including Bob Bellerue, Albert Ortega, Mitchell Brown, Jeremy Drake, Leticia Castaneda, Joseph Hammer, and Jessica Catron. Recent electronic work has explored the varied and unique characteristics of defective or outdated sound-producing media.  Compositions seek to align improvisers of often vastly differing styles and instruments along identical creative frameworks. David is at the California Institute of the Arts, earning his MFA in the Composition/New Media program, and where he has studied with David Rosenboom, Tom Erbe, Mark Trayle, Michael Pisaro, and has performed under the supervision of Wadada Leo Smith and Djoko Walujo.
